Tibetan Home of Hope

Autumn in Jian Zha means harvest, and the children of Tibetan Home of Hope have been helping out in the gardens and the fields. Here you can see Tsima Gya and Sangji Kyi harvesting our own wheat in our nearby field. While our children are receiving a good education, they are also learning sustainable practices such as farming, and are gaining valuable skills that will help them to be viable members of their local community. Kunchok Thondup (see photos right and below taken this past spring) is a quiet boy who is now in 2nd grade. He is somewhat shy, but once you get to know him he is quite playful and laughs easily. His health was poor when he arrived at Tibetan Home of Hope, and now he is robust and sturdy, and runs with the best of them.

Drawing is one of Kunchok Thondup's passions, and he will happily do any kind of artwork anytime. He also loves writing Tibetan, reading, and playing outdoor games. He is quick to join in any activity, and he plays well with everyone.

Here is a very happy Kunchok Thondup after his first taste of Tibetan Home of Hope honey, harvested right in his own back yard this past spring. As you can see, he is doing remarkably well, and he is well on his way to being able to enjoy a fulfilling and healthy life thanks to the loving care and education he receives through Tibetan Home of Hope.

Bonnie Ringer Presentation About

Tibetan Home of Hope

Bonnie Ringer, a certified yoga therapist and long-time friend and supporter of Tibetan Home of Hope, will be offering a 3-day yoga workshop at Kripalu (in the Berkshires of Western Massachussets) from Sunday to Tuesday, October 3-5. On Monday evening, October 4th from 7:30-9 PM, she will present images from and readings about Tibetan Home of Hope while raising awareness of the orphanage and its children. Reminder: Peace Awards Ceremony for

Tashi Dolma and Tashi Rabten on Sunday, Oct. 3rd

As we reported in our previous newsletter, the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) in Nyack, NY, will be awarding their Peace Prize to Tashi Dolma and Tashi Rabten for their remarkable achievements at Tibetan Home of Hope. The Peace Awards Celebration takes place on Sunday, October 3rd, from 1 to 4 p.m.
