Trenches are dug and bricks delivered as Tashi Rabten and Architect Tom Scrimgeour arrived in Tibet last week to oversee construction of the dorm and implementation of the sustainable heating systems.
PLANTING THE ORGANIC GREENHOUSESStudents help with planting the greenhouses, here shown still covered with a heavy plastic used to protect the plants from the late frost during the early Spring. The plastic is later removed in June.
VEGETABLE GARDEN AND MURALS Students preparing the vegetable garden located by the cafeteria and classroom building. The murals were painted by students from the Artisan Program with assistance from their thangka painting teachers.
TIBETAN HOME Of HOPE AT ANDOVER ACADEMY
Tashi Dolma & Tashi Rabten were invited to speak at Andover Academy by Mary Polk-Bauman and the Non Sibi Society, the club that raised funds for THOH from a school wide swim-a-thon this past Fall. Tashi Dolma spoke to a large group of students and teachers about her life experiences and how she and Tashi Rabten began THOH.

Tibetan Home of Hope at Yoga Retreat
Bonnie Ringer, a certified yoga therapist and long-time friend
and supporter of Tibetan Home of Hope, will be offering a 5-day yoga Immersion
at Kripalu (in the Berkshires of Western Massachussets)
from Sunday to Friday, June 5-10, 2011.
On Sunday evening, June 5th from 7:30-9 PM, she will present images from, and readings about Tibetan Home of Hope while also raising awareness of the
orphanage and its children.
